FAQ

How can plans be purchased?
Plans can be purchased online, through email, or by phone. Our email and phone number can be found in the contact section of our website.
How will I receive the plans?
We will email you a PDF copy of the plans after payment for the designs has been received. With a PDF copy, you can print as many hard copies for your builder as needed.
How long will it take to receive the plans after purchase?
Once payment for your plans has been received and processed, the plans will be emailed to you within 10 business days. However, some plans may be available and sent to you immediately.
What is included in a set of plans?
Each set of plans contains a cover page, foundation plan, floor plan, elevations, roof plan, electrical plan, and details.
What is your return policy?
All plan purchases are final and are not eligible for refunds or exchanges. We encourage you to contact us with any questions before purchasing and carefully review your selection to ensure the plan you choose best meets your needs.
Is there a materials list provided with the plans?
We do not provide a material list for our plans. Each plan purchase contains a “builder’s set” of drawings which can be used by your contractor to create a materials list.
How much does it cost to build a house?
There are many factors that go into pricing a new home build. Your builder can take our plans and determine a construction cost in conjunction with your desired fixtures and finishes.
Do I own the copyright to the plans?
Copyright to each house plan remains with Tootle Design, LLC. The plan purchased is licensed for your use only and may not be shared, transferred, reproduced, or resold to another individual.
Can you help with remodeling or additions to an existing home?
We do not offer remodeling or addition services for existing homes. For these projects, we recommend consulting a local design professional.
Can I get the CAD file?
We do not supply CAD files of our plans as our designs and formats have been developed over many years.
Can plans be mirrored?
Yes, we can mirror a plan (flip, backward) for an extra $225 per plan.
What type of foundation design is included in the plans?
Our standard foundation design is slab-on-grade or chain wall. We do not design piers, raised foundations, piles, or basements.
Can plans be modified?
We would be glad to discuss a possible plan modification. Please contact us by phone or email and we can discuss your ideas.
Are there pictures available for each design?
Many of our designs have been built and pictures of completed homes are showcased on our website. Pictures may not be exact representations of the respective home design.
Are the home renderings accurate?
The renderings are intended to provide a general representation of the home’s design and appearance. Some elevation images are AI-generated, while others are photos of completed homes, so colors, materials, landscaping, and other details may vary from the final plans.
How is the square footage calculated?
The total heated square footage is shown for every house plan and includes only finished, heated living areas. Unfinished or optional finished spaces, garages, and outdoor living areas are not included in this total.
Will your plans meet my local building codes?
Our house plans are designed to meet standard building codes in effect when they are drawn. However, local codes, zoning requirements, and site conditions may vary. Plans may require modifications by a local builder, engineer, or designer. The purchaser is responsible for confirming that the plans meet all applicable local requirements and site restrictions before construction.
Can I see a build in person?
For privacy reasons, we are unable to provide specific location or contact information for completed homes.
